WORKING METHODOLOGY
FIRST (INTAKE) CONSULT
During the first appointment, a diagnosis is performed to determine if the client suffers from psychological complaints and if a treatment is covered by the insurance. In the second appointment, the treatment plan is discussed and next appointments are scheduled.
TREATMENT DURATION
The total duration of a treatment depends on the nature and severity of the complaints and the manner in which the client is able to work on her/his issues. If it should appear that the treatment would need to last longer than the maximum time allowed (by the insurer), together with you and your general practitioner, it will be considered if specialised care (SGGZ) is an option.

COMPENSATION
The Dutch health insurance system, distinguishes between general psychological health care (Generalistische Basis GGZ) and special psychological health care (Gespecialiseerde GGZ). Your personal doctor is responsible for referral to either the general or special psychological health care. My practice focuses on general psychological health care.
COMPENSATION
In principal, health insurers cover general psychological health care. However, not all types of psychological problems are covered. Which psychological problems are covered, you can find in your insurers policy conditions. In addition, the expenses related to the first appointment, will fall under your personal contribution (for 2020 this is € 385,-). Many insurance companies accept payment of the personal contribution in instalments.
The tariff for the non-insured psychological heath care is € 110,- per session. Relation therapy is € 140,- per session.
